Mortenson’s learning and development programs lead the industry in innovation, depth, and impact. We provide the learning and development team members need to advance their careers, whether they are just beginning or have many years of experience.

Through Mortenson University, we offer learning activities which teach relationship building skills, leadership, safety, quality, company policies, software applications, industry leading processes, and technical skills. Mortenson University offers a variety of learning methods including individualized ‘on-the-job’ learning experiences, online self-study courses, and instructor-led classes.

Our training curriculum enables team members to select learning activities and customize learning experiences to meet your career learning and development goals. Combined, these experiences prepare them to successfully deliver an exceptional experience to our customers while developing your skills for the future.




Career Progression

We offer support to help team members advance their career.

Beginning on the first day and continuing throughout their career, team members are guided by mentors. An orientation mentor helps the individual get off to a great start as they learn more about Mortenson and the responsibilities of their new position. Throughout their careers mentors are there to help team members learn new skills, offer career advice, and guide them through their career progression.

The Career Management and Planning process provides a formal opportunity for team members and their supervisors to identify goals, discuss performance, outline career objectives, and create action plans to meet learning, development, and career goals.

Mortenson University supports this process by offering a variety of learning plans designed to develop specific skill sets. Team members can select specific learning plans to create a personalized learning experience.
