Mortenson’s college recruiting process is integral to our long-term success.   Each year, we conduct on-campus interview events at over 30 schools nationwide.  We use various tools to get in touch with students on campus, including career fairs, informational sessions, presentations to student groups, and on-campus interviews. 

Mortenson is a very diverse organization, both geographically and by types of construction projects. The schools we visit are chosen very carefully, based on our established relationships on campus, changing business needs, or expanding geographic business base.  While it is impossible to be on every campus for every event, we strive to meet students nationwide who have an outstanding academic background, a passion for a career in construction, and the potential to be a leader in our company.

Mortenson’s Career Learning & Development program is the perfect tool to help you advance your career, build upon your past experience and education, and explore a variety of career options.  The Career Learning & Development program for new graduates is intended to expose you to the different phases of the construction process, while allowing you to pursue the path that matches your goals and talents most closely.  We believe that the experiences you gain with Mortenson will form a foundation of construction knowledge and experience upon which to build your career. 

Throughout the Career Learning & Development program, you will complete specific learning plans to aid in your career development.  Learning plans are focused on helping new graduates leverage their education and grow their skills in areas such as project submittals, on-site construction safety, contract documents, project estimating, and project scheduling.  They will also experience learning plans intended to enhance interpersonal skills and career advancement, including building relationships and managing a career.  These learning plans represent Mortenson’s commitment to on-going team member development, demonstrating our philosophy that we’re not just building structures and facilities, we’re building careers.
