We build ingenuity, expertise, and exceptional people!
At Mortenson, we have a long-standing tradition of hiring college students who will become our future leaders. As an industry leader, we provide students with excellent opportunities to experience construction, learn how we do business, and build upon their college education. Our College Talent Acquisition program is well established, and we maintain excellent relationships with the schools, advisors, and faculty on college campuses nationwide.
The process is integrated into our company culture, and our company leadership believes strongly in continuing to hire the best and brightest college graduates. As Mortenson continues to grow, our business is becoming more diverse. We are constantly pursuing new technologies, industries, clients, and innovative ways to conduct business. It’s an exciting time to work with Mortenson.
College Recruiting Process
Mortenson’s college recruiting process is integral to our long-term success. Each year, we conduct on-campus interview events at over 30 schools nationwide. We use various tools to get in touch with students on campus, including career fairs, informational sessions, presentations to student groups, and on-campus interviews.
Mortenson is a very diverse organization, both geographically and by types of construction projects. The schools we visit are chosen very carefully, based on our established relationships on campus, changing business needs, or expanding geographic business base. While it is impossible to be on every campus for every event, we strive to meet students nationwide who have an outstanding academic background, a passion for a career in construction, and the potential to be a leader in our company.
Mortenson’s internship program is designed to hire college students and provide a hands-on opportunity to experience their chosen profession. Mortenson’s internship program is designed to provide real-world experience in construction and provide an opportunity to apply what they have learned in the classroom. We understand that on-the-job, real-world, hands-on construction is the #1 reason that college students seek internships. That’s exactly what we provide at Mortenson.
We have a long-standing tradition of hiring excellent students, providing them hands-on construction and converting interns into full-time team members after they graduate. Mortenson interns value their experience because they become integral members of our project teams. You will take on a reasonable level of responsibility within your project team but still have the freedom to ask questions, grow professionally, and learn more about themselves.
