The new 1 million square foot facility brings level 1 trauma services to the region and is located on a 109-acre site that was chosen for accessibility. Designed in a timeless, collegiate gothic architectural style, the 11-story, 384-bed medical center incorporates LEED standards and has four hospital towers that enable all patient rooms to have large windows with unobstructed views. Medical services housed in the new building include children’s/pediatric intensive care unit (PICU), trauma/operating rooms, orthopedics/neurosurgery, heart surgery/interventional cardiology, and emergency services. The project involved over 700 workers throughout construction and was one of the top 10 largest healthcare construction projects in the nation.
