North Dakota State University Churchill Hall Renovation / Fargo, ND
Does the renovation of a historic residence hall need to include an expansion?
Churchill Hall is a men’s residence hall built-in 1927-28 with a footprint of approximately 46,000 square feet. The project included a complete interior renovation of the student rooms, restrooms, hall office, resident apartment, kitchen, and lounge spaces, as well as the addition of an elevator. The work on the exterior of the building included new egress windows at the basement level and waterproofing. The exterior brick enclosure was tuckpointed, and the team renovated the exterior courtyard for students.
