Mortenson was chosen to partner with Proterra to support Chicago Transit Authority’s (CTA) first foray into electrification. Our team provided Design-Build project services for rapid charging electric bus overhead at three locations along Chicago Avenue in Chicago, IL. 

This project was CTA’s first big step in achieving their goal of converting their entire bus fleet to electric by 2040, making it one of the first large cities in the United States to take on such a large and complex electrification project.
