As a Renewable Investment Executive, Ilya Grindstaff specializes in driving sustainable growth and returns through investments in the renewable energy sector. His key areas of focus include tax equity development, where he leverages financial structures to optimize tax benefits for Mortenson; commercial solar development, where he oversees the deployment and management of solar strategies for Mortenson Properties; and sustainability, where he ensures that investments align with the ethical principle of “investing for the greater good.”
Ilya received a Physics and Quantitative Finance degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Prior to joining Mortenson Properties, Ilya was the CFO of iDEAL Energies (a premium solar developer and EPC in Minnesota with 500+ commercial solar installations). In addition to sustainability, Ilya is passionate about diversity, equity, and inclusion in the workplace and is the current DEI Champion for Mortenson Properties. During his free time, Ilya loves bouldering, playing guitar, and spending time with his partner and three kitties.
