WOMEN IN CONSTRUCTION
Building a talent pipeline for women
Our Denver women’s affinity group celebrates the growing role of women in the construction industry. We strive to raise awareness for opportunities available to women at Mortenson and to always give back to the communities in which we work. We hope to continue to build a pipeline of women entering the industry, as we work to expose the youth in our community to the opportunities for career pathways in our industry.
Progressive Hiring Process
Today, women serve vital functions across all facets of Mortenson’s business – from project engineers to superintendents and laborers to electricians. In fact, 34% of Mortenson's workforce is women - more than triple the industry average of 9.1%, and nearly 10% of our craftworkers are women. Unique in the construction industry, Mortenson also has a standing commitment to award 15% of all subcontracts to small, minority and women-owned businesses, including all private work - a goal the company has exceeded.
Building Diversity
Women play an important role at Mortenson - here we discuss how we have advanced what women are doing on our project sites, and the abundant roles they represent throughout our company.
