Bryan Maggio honored as an ENR Northwest Top Regional Professional
Honoring outstanding professionals under the age of 40 who represent the industry’s top rising leaders in giving back to their industry and communities
In a testament to exceptional leadership and unwavering dedication, we are thrilled to announce that Bryan Maggio, Director of Business Development in Seattle, has been honored with the prestigious ENR (Engineering News-Record) Northwest Top Regional Professionals Award. This recognition underscores his outstanding contributions to our industry and his ability to inspire and guide our team toward unparalleled success. As we celebrate this achievement, we delve deeper into Bryan's remarkable journey and invaluable impact on our organization and the regional landscape.
A Career Delivering Spaces That Promote Health & Healing
Bryan's first assignment as an Assistant Project Engineer out of college on an active hospital renovation project sparked his career-long passion for healthcare construction. He was struck by the ability to positively impact people's health through the built environment and inspired by the collaboration between caregivers, administrators, and facilities engineers. This zeal for healthcare construction resulted in Bryan leading many critical healthcare projects with his previous firm, Gilbane in New York City.
After relocating to the Puget Sound from New York City in 2017 to be closer to family, Bryan found a home with Mortenson, where the enthusiasm around healthcare matched his own. He served as the Puget Sound Healthcare Market Leader from 2018 through 2021, leading pursuit strategies and selections for 10+ projects totaling over $1.2B. The successful projects Bryan has overseen span the region and leading healthcare providers, including Providence Regional Medical Center, Kaiser Permanente small projects at 5 locations, Swedish Edmonds, and Harborview Medical Center.
As Director of Business Development, he guides our Project Development team and is responsible for all project acquisition and performance, creating new and growing existing customer and partner relationships. Bryan firmly believes no project is too small, as each serves a unique purpose in furthering our customers' missions.
Beyond his role in business development, Bryan focuses on furthering two key tenets of Mortenson's culture: Safety and Community. He serves on the Seattle Safety Leadership Team and is also an Executive Chair of the Seattle Community Impact Team, amplifying local team members' passions to support the local community through donations of time, talent, and treasure.
Community Engagement
Eager to engage in his new PNW community, Bryan joined the Mount Si High School Lacrosse Club as an assistant varsity coach. A former Division I athlete, he became immediately reenergized by the camaraderie and competitive spirit with coaches and players on and off the field. Since joining as the Defensive Coordinator in 2019, he has helped take the team from a 6-10 record to winning the school's first state championship in 2023 with a 19-1 record.
His enthusiasm and support for Seattle sports doesn't stop there. Athletics played an important role in Bryan's life from an early age, and he believes everyone should have the opportunity to experience that for themselves without money being a barrier. His involvement with the Seattle Sports Commission (SSC) and the SSC Foundation is a way to realize this aspiration through partnering with local professional and collegiate sports teams to increase equality and access to sports for youth from disadvantaged communities.
Bryan sits on the executive committee of the American Heart Association's inaugural Hard Hats with Health campaign in the Puget Sound, which promotes heart health awareness in the construction industry through education and project-specific initiatives. He serves as the 2023 Puget Sound Hard Hats with Heart chairperson, motivated by the ability to provide practical, meaningful resources to our craft team members. The initiative has touched over 9,000 construction industry professionals and raised over $1.2M in its first two years.
