Mortenson Raises $21,100 for CommonSpirit Health St. Anthony Hospital Foundation's Scholarship Endowment Fund

Mortenson Top Golf fundraising event

Mortenson's St. Anthony North project team in Colorado recently organized a Topgolf fundraiser, raising $21,100 to support the St. Anthony North Hospital Foundation's Scholarship Endowment Fund.

St. Anthony North Hospital Foundation is dedicated to making education accessible to healthcare caregivers from various socio-economic backgrounds. Mortenson's contribution directly supports their Scholarship Endowment Fund, which has already awarded 85 scholarships totaling $777,500 to clinical associates since its inception in 2017.

Mortenson's project team, which is leading a substantial expansion at CommonSpirit Health St. Anthony Hospital, spearheaded the event, inviting project trade partners and the design team to support the fundraising efforts. Sponsors included Centennial Drywall, Engineered Demolition, Encore Electric, Inc., E&K of Denver, SmithGroup, Boulder Associates, S.A. Miro, MTech Mechanical, Burnco Colorado LLC, Sierra Rebar, CFA and Commercial Flooring.

“At Mortenson, we believe the best way to create sustainable change is through engagement in our community, and our work on each project goes beyond the physical construction,” said Bruce LePage, market director Mortenson. “Education –and the opportunities it provides – are key components of Mortenson’s work, so we were proud to host this fundraising event to support the Scholarship Endowment Fund.”

The TopGolf tournament featured 12 six-player teams, with Encore Electric securing first place, Centennial State Drywall in second and MTech Mechanical taking third.

Since becoming involved in the CommonSpirit Health St. Anthony North Hospital expansion project, the Mortenson team has shown exceptional commitment to the St. Anthony North Health Foundation and the community. To date, the company has supported the St. Anthony North Scholarship Endowment, helped sponsor a “Hospital Week” barbeque and organized the successful TopGolf fundraiser. Our continued support for the organization will next be seen in our teams’ participation with their "Drive-By-Pie" event later in November, combining donations and volunteer efforts.

Mortenson has also committed to engaging with the St. Anthony North community through initiatives like the Community Garden Spring Clean-up and the "Bring your Child to Work Day" event, allowing over 30 children of St. Anthony North staff to shadow Mortenson employees on a day in the life on the construction site.

"Beyond their role as our construction partner on the expansion of CommonSpirit Health St. Anthony North Hospital, Mortenson has demonstrated remarkable generosity of spirit as a community partner," said Constance Schmidt, CFO of CommonSpirit. “We are immensely grateful for their support in fostering educational opportunities for our healthcare heroes.”
