The Aurora Medical Center in Grafton, Wisconsin, is a 510,900 SF medical campus that includes a hospital and a medical office building. The 107-bed hospital and MOB includes a 24-hour emergency unit with trauma capabilities, full diagnostics, a dedicated orthopedics area with a separate entrance, and a state-of-the-art birthing center with spacious LDRP suites. Innovative features include a software-based tracking system for off-site critical care specialists to monitor Intensive Care Unit patients, as well as family accommodations directly connected to patient rooms complete with kitchenettes and unlimited visiting hours.
The Aurora Medical Center is one of the region’s greenest hospitals and includes a variety of sustainable elements. To accomplish LEED Silver Certification, the team placed an extra emphasis on energy efficient MEP systems, a 50% reduction in water usage with no potable water use for landscaping, locally-procured materials, and construction materials recycling.
