The Lutheran Medical Center infrastructure upgrades included updating and adding more efficient MEP equipment to the Lutheran facility Central Utility Plant (CUP). The project incorporated expanding the existing CUP to accommodate a new Cooling Tower, as well as removal and replacement of many new MEP systems that include, but are limited to a new chilled water head end, chiller, DA tank, sand filters, heat exchangers, cold water pumps, MUA, and associated piping and VFD's.
All of the work was completed in an active hospital while keeping the facility operational. It was important to understand, coordinate, and minimize critical impacts on the facility to assure that the hospital could maintain operations throughout construction.
