This project, located on the shore of Cat Cove Bay in Salem, Massachusetts, added secondary treatment of wastewater to the existing primary facility. Significant renovation and tie-in work throughout the existing plant was also a major part of this work, including demolition and reconstruction of the sludge processing facility. Work included the phased removal and replacement of the existing structural framework and process equipment while maintaining uninterrupted operation.
