Stream Private Data Center™

How do you build a data center that can withstand extreme weather conditions?

The Stream Private Data Center™ is a Tier III, LEED Silver, wholesale multi-tenant facility consisting of three private 1.125 MW data center suites, each expandable to 2.25 MW. It is served by underground feeds from two substations and accommodates eight fiber carriers from diverse entry points.

Having achieved an Uptime Institute Tier III Design Certification, this facility is designed for concurrent maintainability utilizing a 2N electrical system and N+1 mechanical system. For enhanced reliability, the building is also designed and constructed with a concrete roof and able to withstand a 185 MPH wind load. To capitalize on the climatic advantages of Minnesota, air-side economization provides this data center free cooling for an estimated 8,500 hours per average calendar year. Mortenson achieved substantial completion on this design-build, greenfield project, in nine months, despite extreme winter weather conditions.

Beyond its role as the builder, Mortenson embraced the opportunity to serve as Stream’s business partner; consistently introducing its customers and business associates to Stream’s state-of-the-art facility. The project demonstrates Mortenson’s commitment to supporting our customers’ business goals and serving as an extension of their team.

Mortenson's commitment and dedication helped us successfully enter a new strategic market. They went above and beyond normal expectations to ensure a successful development. We view them as a trusted partner and an extension of the Stream organization.
