UW Health selected Mortenson and joint venture partner J.P. Cullen & Sons to build a new six-story clinic with two towers across the street from UW Health's East Campus Hospital at The American Center.
The $348 million new ambulatory clinic includes 469,000 square feet of space. The building will offer specialty services, such as cardiology, dermatology, oncology, and ophthalmology. In addition to the ambulatory/clinical component, the project includes the development of a 27-acre site and a 1,400-stall parking structure. The South side of the new campus will be home to the only upright proton treatment therapy treatment in North America. This will dramatically improve the patient experience.
UW Health is committed to remaining a leader in sustainability in healthcare. The Eastpark project, in many ways, is a representation of UW’s sustainability journey. The LEED-certified building will generate a considerable amount of its power onsite through the utilization of solar panels and other green energy generation.
The new clinic will incorporate lessons learned from COVID-19 pandemic, such as telehealth capacity and space for physical distancing if necessary. It will be equipped with a full digital health strategy that will allow for constant connectivity through virtual visits and collaboration with providers who may be outside the UW Health system. This will allow for UW Health physicians and referring physicians to better coordinate care, which will improve outcomes.
The Eastpark Medical Center will be located across from East Madison Hospital and UW Health Rehabilitation Hospital on Eastpark Drive.
The building is under construction with a scheduled completion in fall 2024.
