Vermeer is a global manufacturer of industrial and agricultural equipment. Mortenson rebuilt two plants that were lost in a tornado in July 2018. The new 525,000 sf facility expands production capacity with increased efficiencies and product flow, inclusive of ten-value stream manufacturing and assembly stations, state-of-the-art weld fume mitigation mechanical system, and a best-in-class paint booth system. To provide cooling capacity to this new space and additional existing plants, Mortenson led the design-build of a central utility plant to serve approximately 890,000 sf of manufacturing and assembly space.
Pella Fun Fact: Over 200,000 tulips are planted each year for the Pella Tulip Festival. The festival is a Dutch-influenced three-day event with parades, people in costumes wearing wooden shoes and dancing, street vendors, wooden shoe carving demonstrations, and multiple street vendors selling traditional Dutch treats.
