Danish-based, Vestas Blades chose Windsor, Colorado as the site for their first United States manufacturing facility of their wind turbine blades. Mortenson provided a 9.5 month schedule for the first phase of the 200,000 square foot facility and was able to secure occupancy, six-weeks early, in 50,000 square feet of the building, allowing Vestas to accelerate production of their first blade. Mortenson continued work on the second phase of the facility, giving Vestas an additional 175,000 square feet of manufacturing space.
