W. R. Meadows Innovation Center / Hampshire, IL
What can you achieve when you integrate end users in the building process?
The W. R. Meadows Innovation Center project involved a 36,000 square-foot renovation of an existing single-story industrial building into a cutting-edge innovation center that houses research & development laboratories, a training & demonstration Center, warehouse space, meeting spaces, and offices. This new facility, adjacent to their corporate headquarters campus, allows W. R. Meadows to improve their existing building products, develop new building products, and showcase them in a state-of-the-art space where they can educate contractors, architects, engineers, and their own staff representatives on their use.
During preconstruction, the project team collaborated with W. R. Meadows research scientists and technical representatives to identify opportunities to use their products during construction. As the building process unfolded, the W. R. Meadows team remained closely involved by participating in preparatory meetings and witnessing and assisting with installations of their products. This involvement also allowed them to receive immediate, valuable feedback regarding ease of workability from the craftworkers installing the product.
With W. R. Meadows directly furnishing their products to the project site, the team was able to leverage just-in-time deliveries to reduce the overall footprint of the construction site and eliminate the increasing risk of supply chain issues.
This project was proudly completed with zero injuries.
