Cameron McClay brings over 14 years of dedicated experience to Mortenson, having joined the company in 2010. Specializing in mission-critical spaces within both Federal and Data Center sectors, Cameron has played a crucial role in driving the growth and success of Mortenson's Washington D.C. office.
Cameron started his career with Mortenson as a Field Engineer. After seven years of traveling to multiple design-build projects, Cameron landed in Washington, D.C. where he now leads Mortenson's data center pursuits across the DMV region. As one of the original team members of the DC office, he has cultivated strong relationships with local customers, design partners, and trade partners.
Cameron has consistently excelled in onsite project operations and execution throughout his career, successfully leading diverse teams and managing a range of projects, from ground-up construction and retrofitting existing buildings to water work and data centers. Known for delivering superior results in high-stress, critical environments, he now focuses on expanding Mortenson’s data center expertise both operationally and in business development. Cameron collaborates with Mortenson’s Data Center team to align strategy, customer engagement, and execution excellence, benefiting both the local office and national operations.
Cameron’s strengths lie in fostering a collaborative working environment, demonstrating selfless leadership, solving complex problems, and creating a culture of care. His determination and dedication are evident in every project he undertakes.
Cameron holds a Bachelor of Science in Construction Engineering and Management from Purdue University and is certified as a Project Management Professional, LEED Green Associate, and Safety Trained Supervisor Construction.
