He was a member of the Mortenson Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) champion pilot program, which has since rolled out company-wide. As the DEI champion in the Seattle office, he enjoys planning and organizing DEI meetings and utilizing this time to facilitate many conversations around diversity, equity, and inclusion topics such as unconscious bias, micro-messaging, and what it looks like to build an inclusive environment. Cesar is passionate about engaging the Seattle team members in meaningful ways to create an environment where everyone feels heard and has a sense of belonging.
In his free time, Cesar enjoys playing golf, coaching his kids' basketball teams, and serving at his local church as an active member. He is also on the Puget Sound CFMA (Construction Financial Management Association) Chapter board and is an alumnus of Central Washington University, where he received his Bachelor's in Accounting.
