A Great Leader Builds Up Leaders
A great leader builds leaders. We must navigate the delicate balance between empowerment and preparation in order to support and build those up around us. Today's leaders need to understand and adapt to the challenges that come with the dynamics of an ever changing workplace - preparing those they lead for their absence not their presence. The emphasis on leadership at all levels is unique to Mortenson's culture and is part of the daily vocabulary.
Creating Culture
Mortenson makes it easy to always do the right thing, whether that is the right thing for our team, the customer or one of our partners. We are invested in our people because they are the most valuable resource we have. We do the right thing so that we have a greater chance of creating the vision of the future we have for ourselves. Today's workplace is changing at an increasingly rapid pace, and we need to ensure there is a space for all our team members to participate fully in that workplace.
Opportunity For Impact
Every project is an opportunity to impact our customer's business and help bring the positive change they envisioned to life. Our customers will experience our competent, humble professionalism at every step along their journey. We are deliberately expanding and evolving into new product types, new geographies and service offerings every year. With that kind of rapid innovation and growth, the possibilities are far-reaching and continue to push the boundaries in our industry.
PERSONAL PASSIONS
Being a good coach and mentor is very important to me. I want to be part of ensuring the next generations inherits something better than the previous. There is a great deal of satisfaction that comes from helping teach values like hard work, kindness, generosity, determination and teamwork while instilling self-confidence, self-reliance, responsibility, toughness and belief in yourself.
