Dan Ryan joined Mortenson Properties in mid-2023. As managing director, Dan oversees all aspects of MPI’s activities, from new real estate investments to asset management, and enabling the next phase of real estate asset growth. 

Dan is an innovative and results-driven leader with nearly three decades of commercial real estate experience. Prior to joining MPI, Dan spent 28 years at JLL in Chicago, where he was most recently President, Central Region responsible for JLL’s markets’ teams and services across the Central United States, encompassing brokerage (office, industrial, retail), property management, project and developmental services, and valuations. He was also accountable for the operations and business results in the Central Region and developed and implemented strategic initiatives, while maintaining and developing key client relationships with owners and occupiers of real estate.

Dan is a licensed Illinois real estate broker, a member of the Chicago Economic Club, a past Board Member of the Chicago Executives’ Club, and World Business Chicago. He serves on the alumni board of directors of the Cara Program, served as Honorary Chair of the 2022 American Red Cross Heroes Breakfast, and in 2010, received the Spirit of Life Award from the Chicago Construction and Real Estate Council of City of Hope. Dan and his wife, Colleen, enjoy spending time with their adult son and five adult daughters.
