Jake Frazier

Vice President, General Manager | Power Delivery

For nearly two decades, Jake has gathered a wealth of construction expertise through building and leading monumental projects across the country. Jake began his Mortenson career in 2006 after earning his construction management degree from Minnesota State University, Moorhead. He spent his first six years in the Wind Group as a field engineer, project engineer, and project manager before moving to the new High Voltage Transmission (now Power Delivery) team as one of its first members in 2013, where he was entrusted with some of the group’s largest projects.

Since then, Jake has played a leading role in the Power Delivery group’s growth and diversification, helping transform the sector into the successful business it is today by forming trusted relationships with both customers and team members in the field and office.

Jake was promoted to Director of Operations of Power Delivery in 2019 and Vice President, Operations in 2022. Currently, Jake serves as Vice President and General Manager of the group, providing overall strategy and leadership for the team, including business development, estimating, preconstruction, and construction operations.

Throughout his tenure, Jake has developed a deep understanding of the intricacies involved in the specialized work of Power Delivery. Jake has a wide range of experience in engineering, procurement, and construction delivery methods of power generation (wind, solar, and battery storage), power delivery (substations, transmission lines, and HVDC), and utility interconnection. This knowledge is invaluable to our customers as they navigate their way through the design and schedule challenges often encountered to make their project pro forma and timeline a reality.

Jake is a caring and compassionate leader who lives all of Mortenson's LeadBLU principles (Do the right thing; We before me; Inspire what’s possible). His experience and strong understanding of the Power Delivery business has positioned him well to continue to advance the business and provide growth opportunity for our team members.

When he isn’t working, you can find Jake fishing, golfing, or ice fishing.
