[SENIOR VICE PRESIDENT]
No one person can build a project, but a team can do anything it sets its mind to.
Success is a Shared Achievement
The collaborative spirit of Mortenson’s team members is our “secret sauce,” where challenges are met with creativity, teamwork, and unwavering support. Whether solving complex challenges or mentoring future leaders, I try to emphasize humility, vulnerability, and the value of listening. By creating an environment where every team member contributes their strengths, this ensures success is always a shared achievement.
Strengthening Our Greatest Asset
I believe our strong culture and programs like LeadBlu and Pathways help cultivate our solid foundation for growth, innovation, and leadership across the company. My leadership philosophy is an extension of this culture, which centers on empowering individuals, fostering collaboration, and embracing diverse perspectives, ensuring every team member feels empowered and valued.
Our people are our biggest asset. It’s so important that we’re taking care of our team members and the boots on the ground, because without them, we wouldn’t have a business. We always aim to do the best by the people in the field.
A Lifelong Commitment to Growth and Innovation
My tenure at Mortenson is a testament to the opportunities this company provides for continuous growth and reinvention. From estimating to field operations to senior leadership, I’ve experienced multiple “careers” within the company, because Mortenson offers limitless potential for those with the drive and curiosity to explore new paths. Because of that, I remain dedicated to inspiring others, advancing innovation, and ensuring the company’s future success.
PERSONAL PASSION
With over 35 years at Mortenson, I’ve built a career defined by passion, perseverance, and leadership. Starting as an intern in estimating in 1988 after graduating from Dunwoody, I quickly transitioned into fieldwork to connect planning with execution. My journey took me across the country, from wastewater treatment facilities in Georgia to California, renewable energy projects in New York, Minnesota and Texas, and these experiences contribute to my lifelong commitment to impactful and meaningful work.
