As Development Manager, Laura is responsible for cultivating new real estate development opportunities in the Washington, DC region. She manages the early stages of opportunities through the design and construction phases.
Laura received her Master’s degree in real estate with a concentration in real estate finance from Georgetown University. She also has received a Bachelor of Architecture, a Bachelor of Arts in communication arts & sciences with a concentration in organization communications, and a Minor in architectural history from The Pennsylvania State University. Laura is a licensed architect in the District of Columbia with significant involvement in the industry including:
- American Institute of Architects (AIA) Project Delivery Knowledge Community where she is an Advisory Group Chair
- Architecture, Construction, Engineering (ACE) DC Affiliate Board Member where she provides mentorship to high school students through the ACE Mentorship Program of America
- Design-Build Institute of America (DBIA) Mid-Atlantic Region Board where she is the Young Professional/Student Chapter Committee Liaison
- Designated Design-Build Professional with DBIA
- NCARB certification
Laura has gained nationwide experience since joining Mortenson in 2015 as a field engineer, progressing to project engineer, assistant project manager, and design phase manager roles. She utilizes her collective experience at Mortenson along with her real estate development education as a development manager with focus in the Washington, DC region.
