Mortenson’s 17th Annual Charity Golf Tournament Raises $100,000 for Food Bank of the Rockies

Mortenson recently hosted its 17th Annual Charity Golf Tournament, where the Denver team, along with partners and participants, raised an impressive $100,000 to support its 2024 Community Impact Partner, Food Bank of the Rockies, the largest hunger-relief organization in the Rocky Mountain region. The tournament saw over 200 golfers in more than 50 teams come together for a great cause.

This year’s event was notably driven by the dedication and hard work of Mortenson team members and summer interns. They took on various roles such as registration, mulligan sales, monitoring the hole-in-one challenge, and managing drink carts, ensuring the event ran smoothly and successfully. Their commitment exemplifies the community spirit that Mortenson values deeply.

“Mortenson’s mission is to create positive change in communities, through both the work we do and our community partnerships,” said Brian Fitzpatrick, Vice President and General Manager of Mortenson Denver. “We believe a thriving community is a nourished community, and that belief is amplified through our work with Food Bank of the Rockies. Together, with the generous support of our tournament sponsors, participants, and everyone who made this event possible, we can turn hunger into hope. Your support will directly fuel Food Bank of the Rockies’ mission of providing nutritious meals and empowering individuals and families towards a food-secure future.”

Julie Blanco, the manager of this year’s event, was instrumental in its success. “The dedication and enthusiasm of our team members and interns were key to the smooth execution of the tournament,” said Blanco. “Their hard work and commitment ensured that every aspect of the event was handled with care and professionalism, making this our most successful tournament yet.”

Including the funds raised from this year’s Charity Golf Tournament, which is Mortenson Denver’s largest annual fundraising event, the firm’s Colorado office has donated over $500,000 to its Community Impact Partners since the program began in 2020.

Having served 367,685 individuals in 2023, Food Bank of the Rockies provides food and necessities to those in need across the largest food bank coverage area in the contiguous United States. Through signature programs and in partnership with Hunger Relief Partners, Food Bank of the Rockies serves communities across Colorado and Wyoming. Funds from the tournament will be used to create a food-secure future for individuals and families in need.

“We're thrilled to partner with Mortenson Denver as their 2024 Community Impact Partner," said Erin Pulling, President & CEO at Food Bank of the Rockies. "Their commitment to building a stronger Colorado directly aligns with our mission of doing so by fighting hunger. Mortenson’s partnership will be instrumental in helping us expand our reach and provide critical food assistance to even more families in need.”

Mortenson Denver partnered with more than 45 sponsors for this year’s tournament, showcasing the power of community collaboration in achieving such a significant fundraising milestone.
