The new Esperanza Health Centers facility, located in the Brighton Park neighborhood of Chicago, is a 43,500-square-foot, two-story clinic that will provide healthcare services for the surrounding community. McNitt Consulting is the owner's representative, and the design team is comprised of Urban Works, dbHMS, TERRA Engineering, TGDA, and CEA&A.

In Spanish, Esperanza means hope and it is their mission to deliver health and hope for Chicago's underserved communities by providing bilingual, high-quality primary care and behavioral health and wellness services to the community, regardless of immigration status, insurance status, or ability to pay.

Located adjacent to an existing Esperanza facility, the new building will expand their current offerings to include clinic and administrative space to support Geriatric Medicine, Family Medicine, Pediatric, Behavioral Health, and Women’s services functions. Specialty spaces include Senior Day Care Program, Physical and Occupational Therapy, Laboratory Services, Meeting Space, Café and Kitchen. The scope also includes an expansion of the current parking lot and the addition of a new one.

The project broke ground in October 2022. To accommodate the tight urban site, the team created detailed site logistics to protect the existing Esperanza building to the North, as well as the neighboring high school, businesses, and residential areas. Early procurement of long-lead materials and equipment was implemented to ensure completion by November 2023.

Throughout all phases of the project, the team remains aligned with Esperanza's mission to serve the Brighton Park community through our subcontractor partnerships, workforce goals, and partnership with neighborhood organizations.

The Esperanza Health Centers Brighton Park Clinic project is a perfect example of ‘Building for the Greater Good'. This team stood out because of their passion for supporting Esperanza’s mission of delivering health and hope for Chicago's underserved communities while also staying steadfast in their commitment to utilizing diverse firms, resulting in extraordinary participation percentages. This is truly an example of transforming communities through economic inclusion, and we are thrilled for them to receive the Community Empowerment Award for Excellence in Supplier Diversity.
