As the first indoor waterpark in the state, Mortenson built the 350-room family boutique resort constructed on an 18-acre site adjacent to Salt River Fields at Talking Stick, located within the Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community’s Talking Stick Entertainment District, also a Mortenson project. The fast-paced, complex construction project was completed in September 2019 and is the 18th Great Wolf Lodge resort in North America.
The new Great Wolf Lodge is truly a unique year-round family destination experience that supports the booming hospitality market in this tourism-focused state. The resort has an 85,000 square foot indoor water park that is heated to 84 degrees year round with several water slides for kids of all ages, a wave pool and a lazy river. The Great Wolf Lodge also features a 27,000 square foot family entertainment center called the Great Wolf Adventure Park. It includes a ropes course, a climbing wall, mini golf, bowling and a live-action game called MagiQuest.
