This new four-story, 154,000 square foot ambulatory surgery and multi-specialty center located in Everett, WA will elevate convenient access to our customer’s integrated network in Washington. Urgent care, imaging, surgical, and procedure services were designed to be co-located with multiple clinic specialties to provide a one-stop shop for care. The design of the exam rooms kept flexibility in mind to support patient care both in person and via tele-health visits. The new care facility expands upon the existing multi-specialty medical center located on the same block and adds 700 stalls of above-grade structured parking to serve both the new and existing facilities. Construction on this new facility just north of Seattle is underway and is expected to be completed in 2024.

The Everett Specialty Center will create a lasting community impact by engaging local members and diverse businesses during construction. Uniquely situated just off the interstate, the facility shall serve as a landmark to embody Snohomish County and a catalyst for the City of Everett’s downtown renewal.

Fostering collaboration through Integrated Project Delivery (IPD)

The Everett Specialty Center project team has leveraged industry trends to maximize overall value by driving collaboration and condensing the construction schedule. The integrated project delivery (IPD) model fostered early goal alignment between Mortenson, the design team, key trade partners, and the Owner to achieve the desired program and design to budget. The interdisciplinary team partnered through the pandemic to manage cost escalation and supply chain challenges to remain within the target budget.

Prefabricated and modularized solutions

Prefabrication and modularization are featured heavily in the steel structure, exterior envelope, interior partitions, and operating rooms. The design also takes advantage of repeat elements in the clinic floors to drive productivity and a consistent patient and staff experience. In addition to concrete, Mortenson is self-performing the manufacturing and installation of the exterior wall panels through our sister company, BLUvera.
