The thoughtful design extends to the building’s security features, which are critical in a behavioral health setting.
Mortenson prioritized security, compliance, and timely completion by collaborating early with the hardware vendor, installer, electrical team, and the Owner’s access control vendor. This coordination ensured the system was installed correctly on the first attempt, reducing delays. Early communication with the Department of Health (DOH), including walkthroughs at 50% and 75% completion, helped streamline approvals and address concerns before they became issues. As a result, the final survey produced only minor comments, allowing the hospital to open more than five weeks ahead of schedule and enabling the Owner to start treating patients sooner, improving care and service delivery.
